As a division of Juara Holding Group, we operate within a rigorous framework of safety protocols and regulatory compliance that not only meets but consistently exceeds both Indonesian and international standards. Our clients’ peace of mind is paramount, and it is built on a foundation of verifiable certifications, meticulous maintenance, and a proactive safety culture.
Corporate & Legal Standing
Our operations are fully transparent and compliant with all Indonesian laws.

Vessel & Maritime Compliance
Every vessel in our portfolio is subject to a stringent, non-negotiable set of maritime safety standards.
- Indonesian Flag & Classification: All vessels operate under the Indonesian flag and are subject to regular inspections by the Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut (Directorate General of Sea Transportation) and local port authorities (KSOP).
- Mandatory Vessel Certifications: We maintain a digital and physical file for every vessel, verifying that the following documents are current and valid:
- Surat Ukur: Official Tonnage and Measurement Certificate.
- Sertifikat Keselamatan Kapal Penumpang: Passenger Ship Safety Certificate, which covers structural integrity, fire safety, and life-saving appliances.
- Izin Trayek: Route Permit for specific operational areas like Komodo National Park or Raja Ampat.
- International Safety Standards (SOLAS): Although not always mandatory for vessels of this size, we require our partner fleet to be equipped to SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) standards. This includes professionally serviced, SOLAS-compliant life rafts, EPIRBs, SARTs, VHF/DSC radios, and extensive fire-fighting equipment.
Crew Certification & Training
Our crews are highly experienced and professionally certified mariners.
- Captain & Officer Licensing: Captains hold a minimum of an ANT II (Ahli Nautika Tingkat II – Deck Officer Class II) license, and Chief Engineers hold an ATT II (Ahli Teknika Tingkat II – Engine Officer Class II) license or higher.
- Universal Crew Training: Every single crew member, including hospitality staff, must hold a valid BST (Basic Safety Training) certificate and a Buku Pelaut (Seaman’s Book).
- Continuous Drills & Training: Our Director of Maritime Operations oversees a schedule of mandatory quarterly safety drills for all crews, covering man-overboard, fire, and abandon ship scenarios.
Operational Safety Protocols
- 24/7 Land-Based Monitoring: Our Bali-based operations center tracks every vessel in our fleet in real-time via GPS and maintains a schedule of regular check-ins via satellite phone.
- Comprehensive Emergency Action Plan (EAP): We have a detailed EAP for all foreseeable scenarios, including medical emergencies, mechanical issues, and severe weather. This plan includes direct lines of communication to BASARNAS (The National Search and Rescue Agency) and partnerships with international medical evacuation services.
- Aviation Coordination: For guest transfers, we coordinate closely with airport authorities and AirNav Indonesia to monitor flight conditions and ensure safe and seamless transitions to and from remote airstrips.
This multi-layered approach to safety and compliance is a fundamental part of Our Methodology. It is our steadfast promise that your phinisi Bali experience will be as safe and secure as it is spectacular.

Rigorous maritime safety and crew excellence
The gentle lapping of waves against the hull of a magnificent phinisi, gliding through Bali’s azure waters, speaks to an unparalleled serenity, yet beneath this tranquil surface lies a meticulously orchestrated world of safety. For Phinisi Bali, the structural integrity and seaworthiness of our traditional vessels are non-negotiable. Each phinisi undergoes a stringent schedule of maintenance, including comprehensive dry-docking every two years. During these extensive periods, the vessels receive thorough structural inspections, engine overhauls, and essential system checks, ensuring every component meets and often exceeds the stringent standards set by the Indonesian Directorate General of Sea Transportation (Direktorat Jenderal Perhubungan Laut).
